MATCHA
This tea is made from tencha, grown differently from regular green tea.
Matcha is steamed, dried and ground with a stone mill.
More expensive than regular tea, matcha is used for traditional tea ceremony (sado) to enjoy the sweetness and bitterness.
The health benefits of catechins has helped matcha attract attention as Japan’s superfood.
Make a habit of regularly making matcha, incorporating it as part of your daily routine.
How to Make Matcha
Warm the tea bowl by pouring boiling water in advance, then pour it out. Put 2 teaspoons of matcha into the tea bowl.
Boil the water to remove the chlorine smell, then cool the water temperature to around 80 degrees Celsius. Slowly pour into the tea bowl.
Slowly whisk to disperse the matcha at the bottom of the tea bowl, then lift the bamboo whisk from the bottom, and move your wrist back and forth quickly to whisk.
To finish off, lift up the bamboo whisk to gather the bubbles in the middle.
